Okarito Boat EcoTours offer a variety of tours. The most popular tour is the 9 AM 2-Hour EcoTour which operates everyday within season. Early morning private charter tours are also available. - Changes or cancellations made 24 hours or more in advance can be refunded in full or rescheduled
- Within 24 hours, refunds may not be possible

Ōkārito Boat EcoTours is committed to providing a safe, respectful and enjoyable experience. Tours may be delayed, modified or cancelled if conditions are deemed unsuitable for safe operation. In the event of cancellation by the operator due to weather or conditions, a choice of alternate date or full refund is granted. We do our utmost to ensure an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Natural Environment
- Coastal & Lagoon Conditions Ōkārito Lagoon is a tidal and changeable environment. Water levels, currents and weather conditions can shift quickly. While our tours are calm and guided, conditions may vary.
- Weather & Changing Conditions The West Coast is known for rapidly changing weather. Sunshine can turn to wind, rain or cooler temperatures with little notice. Tours operate only in suitable conditions, but guests should come prepared with warm and waterproof clothing.
- Sun Exposure New Zealand has very high UV levels. Sunscreen, sunglasses and protective clothing are strongly recommended.
- Wildlife & Insects Sandflies and other insects are common. Insect repellent and suitable clothing are advised.

- The skipper has full authority at all times and all instructions must be followed.
- A safety briefing is provided prior to departure.
- Lifejackets must be worn at all times unless otherwise directed.
- Passengers must remain seated while the vessel is in motion.
- Hands and arms must remain inside the vessel during manoeuvring.
- Passengers must not interfere with the operation of the vessel unless invited by the skipper.
- No smoking is permitted on board.
- Alcohol is not permitted except by prior arrangement, and intoxicated persons will not be carried.
- The vessel will be secured before boarding or disembarking.
- Conditions such as tides, footing and vessel movement are assessed at all times.
- Clear instructions and assistance will be provided.
- Boarding or disembarking will not proceed if safety cannot be assured.
- Health & Personal Responsibility
- Please inform your guide if you feel unwell or uncomfortable at any time.
- Guests should take reasonable care for their own safety and wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
- Please advise us in advance of any medical conditions or mobility concerns that may affect your participation.
- Safety equipment is carried on board, including lifejackets, communication systems (radio/epirb) and first aid.
- In the unlikely event of an emergency, follow all instructions from your skipper.
- In New Zealand, emergency services can be contacted by dialing 111.
